What is Your Dream?
Posted on 12 October 2011
Everybody has a dream. A strong desire that well up from the depths of your soul, a desire to express yourself fully and attain your utmost potential.
Some folks believe they have no dreams. They have buried their dreams for so long, they begin to believe they have none. The ability to dream is a gift from God. The ability to use our imagination and dream is one of the things that separate us from animals. At the deep recesses of our sub-conscious, our soul yearns for freedom. Freedom to achieve purpose and fulfill destiny. The yearning may be drowned by the present need to hold unto a job and earn money to put food on the table, and meet other survival needs.
Beyond survival, there is a realm where we experience the freedom to be who we were born to be. This desire is often expressed through dreams. The dream I am talking about here is not the variety that happens in the night, and dissipates at the rising of the morning sun. Although your dreams can manifest in the sleep state, I am talking about goals or things you would love to achieve, if your circumstances were different. You can create the circumstance you desire, but that is outside the scope of this article.
What is your dream?
Stop for a moment and think. If everything in life were free, without a price tag, where in the world would you be? What would you do on a normal working day?
If for a moment, you gain total control over your circumstances, what would you change about your life?
What are you tolerating currently, for the sake of a pay check, and food on the table?
Have you ever stopped and pondered if life was all about pay checks and bills?
Were you born to go to school, get a job, get married, send your kids to school, retire, live on your pension and wait for certain death…is that it? Is that the sum total of what life is about?
What is your dream?
Everybody has a God given dream. We all matter in the eternal master plan. To pursue a dream, you have to know what it is. If you have no clue, the best way to find out is to consult the dream maker .
You may have to go back to where you buried your dreams, dig it up and shake off the dust. You may have abandoned it a long time, believing you don’t have what it takes to make it happen. You will need to start believing in yourself. If you don’t have what it takes, God would not have bothered giving you the dream.
Discover your dreams, embrace it and run with it. The dreams of yesterday are the realities of today. Your tomorrow is in the making, today. Pursue your dreams.
